His expertise covers all aspects of male and female infertility and fertility care, including fertility testing, IVF and assisted conception, fertility preservation, and low ovarian reserve. He has a particular interest in complex cases and is often asked to provide second and third opinions. As Director, he also sets the overall clinical and medical direction of King’s Fertility.
He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at King’s College London, an Honorary Consultant at King’s College Hospital, and the HFEA Person Responsible for all King’s Fertility clinics. In these roles, he oversees the organisation’s clinical, research, educational and regulatory activities.

He undertook specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at several London teaching hospitals, before completing his subspecialty training in reproductive medicine and surgery at Newcastle. This led to dual accreditation with the General Medical Council, after which he returned to London as a fertility consultant.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology. He has served for several years as an elected member of the Executive Committee of the British Fertility Society, the leading professional organisation representing fertility specialists in the UK. With a strong interest in fertility policy, he has given evidence to Parliament’s Women and Equalities Committee.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Sarris is actively involved in advancing reproductive medicine through research, education and professional leadership. He has authored more than 45 peer-reviewed academic papers, seven book chapters and two Oxford University Press textbooks, and has contributed to national clinical guidelines in fertility care. His work helps shape the evidence base used by fertility specialists in the UK and internationally.
He continues to teach and mentor trainee doctors through the King’s Fertility research fellowship programme, and supervises postgraduate research, including MD and PhD students, at King’s College London.
Reflecting his commitment to the science and practice of fertility medicine, and his role as a leading UK fertility expert, Dr Sarris is regularly invited to comment on fertility and reproductive medicine across national television, radio and print media.
Dr Sarris combines evidence-based medicine with clear, pragmatic, supportive guidance, helping patients understand their options and feel confident in their care. Recognising that fertility treatment can be medically complex and emotionally demanding, he aims to ensure that every patient feels informed, supported and personally cared for at each stage of treatment.

Hyperthyroidism means your thyroid gland is producing too much thyroid hormone. This can cause fertility problems by interfering with ovulation for women and sperm production for men. Luckily, it’s usually treatable and can be diagnosed with a simple blood test. #Fertility

Unfortunately, many women living with PMOS wait years for a diagnosis. This name change is a brilliant step in the right direction to reduce that wait time by improving understanding against GPs or what the condition actually looks like. #Fertility #PMOS

While your fertility is impacted by the perimenopause, it’s still possible to conceive naturally. You may also still be eligible for fertility treatments like IVF, though this depends on other factors too, such as your medical history and age.

While sperm need to be strong swimmers to reach the egg, they’re certainly not acting alone in their mission! A woman’s womb naturally contracts and relaxes to help the sperm on their way to their fallopian tubes. It’s a team effort. #Fertility
